Mr. Ogilvie has held numerous leadership roles throughout his distinguished career, including Deputy Commandant, Commanding Officer for Weapons and Tactical Training, and Training Officer in multiple divisions. He brings a wealth of operational and instructional experience to the role of Commandant.

Role and Functions of the Dean of Academic Studies
- Curriculum Design and Implementation:
Design, implement, and regularly review curricula and support materials to ensure they are aligned with the training needs of the police college and the wider JCF. - Policy Development:
Develop and support policies geared towards effective knowledge and skill development training programs within the JCF framework. - Supervisory Role:
Provide functional supervisory oversight to academic staff and instructors involved in curriculum delivery and development. - Managerial Responsibilities:
Apply strong managerial skills and abilities to ensure the effective functioning of the academic programs, maintaining high standards of quality and relevance. - Quality Assurance:
